     Dondee Alice Stoots Swecker, 76, of Pulaski, Va., died Tuesday, March 18,_2003, at the University of North Carolina Hospital, Chapel Hill, N.C. Funeral services were held Friday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel in Pulaski, Va., with Pastor Jerry Collins and Pastor L.J. Rippey officiating. Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery in the Poplar Camp section of Wythe County, Va. She was born Oct. 9, 1927, in Wythe County, Va. and was a member of the Pulaski Church of God on Bob White Blvd., Pulaski, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Stoots and Gertrude_Worrell Stoots; four sisters, Mammie, Bessie, Laura and Hazel; and three brothers, Orel, George and Robert. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Thomas Haymon Ingram Swecker of Pulaski, Va.; a son, Doug Swecker of Pulaski, Va.; a daughter, Beverly Sue Dicker , of Barren Springs, Va.; four granddaughters, Rhonda Hinkley, Jennifer Abdelwahed, Holly Duncan and Christy Lowe; seven stepgrandchildren; two_brothers and sister-in-law, Ray and Nancy Stoots of Pulaski, Va., and Coy Stoots of Barren Springs, Va.; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Threcia "Dot" and Andrew Matney of Dublin, Va., Edith and Robert E. Lee Jones of Pulaski, Va., and Violet and Howard Viars of Bassett, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Pulaski Church of God, P.O. Box 2109, Pulaski, VA 24301. Bower Funeral Chapel in Pulaski, Va., was in charge of the arrangements.
